Consistently achieving good or better progress in our lessons - How do we make progress explicit to the learner and the observer?
This course is suitable for all staff who work within the classroom, middle and senior leaders.
How do we go about ensuring that we as teaching staff not only know the progress students have made, but more importantly, that both students and outside observers are able to recognise it too
This course examines what progress looks like in the classroom and relates progress to the outcome – led lesson. In addition delegates will be shown how to use a range of helpful strategies in order to plan and structure a lesson that delivers explicit ‘good’ progress during a fifteen or twenty minute observation.
Outcomes of the course include:
An understanding of what is good or better progress within the OFSTED framework and how do we show it?
Learning how we effectively plan for progress
Reminding ourselves on what the key differences are between how we TEACH and how children LEARN best.
Refreshing ourselves on how we must marker the learning journey for students to show good progress.
Achieving a clear understanding of the outcome-led lesson, and how this relates directly to progress made.
Learning handy tips on how to enable students to clearly and appropriately measure and reflect upon their prior, current and future learning.
Learning how to make lessons bite size and to review learning at key points during a lesson.
Developing use of the mini plenary as a regular indicator of progress.
And much, much more…
